September 20 – Massachusetts House 12th Bristol District

September 20 – Massachusetts House 12th Bristol District

RESULTS – Republican Keiko Orrall has defeated Democrat Roger Brunelle Jr. 2,125 to 1,761.

Democratic legislator Stephen Canessa found a job worth leaving the legislature for, becoming the executive director for government affairs at Southcoast Health Systems. He had served since winning over an incumbent in 2004.

The district encompasses parts of East Freetown, Lakeville, Middleborough, East Taunton, and New Bedford and is part, as the picture suggests, of the cranberry bog region of the state.

The Democrat is Roger Brunelle, an industrial painter and member of his union local in Middleborough.

Keiko Orrall, a former member of the finance committee in Lakeville, is the Republican nominee
