Election 2011 – Mississippi State House of Representatives

Republicans feel that they have a chance to take over this chamber for the first time since Reconstruction. Haley Barbour, the outgoing governor along with Tea Party activists have heavily targeted taking the 8 seats necessary to flip the chamber. Currently Democrats hold 68 seats and Republicans hold 54.
