This Saturday August 27th early voting in Reno NV and The City of Phoenix AZ begin and an election in Henlopen Acres DE. Let your friends there know it’s voting time
For the special election to fill the 2nd Congressional Seat for Nevada. I added “beyond” in the title of this post because the 27th is the start of early voting and the actual elections are on upcoming dates. Democratic Candidate Kate Marshall, Republican Candidate Mark E. Amodei, Independent American Party Candidate Tim Fasano, and Independent Candidate Helmuth Lehmann are on the ballot.
Early voting starts on the 27th and continues with election day being on the 30th. Polling centers are being used for the first time in this Mayoral/Council election which means if you live in Phoenix you can go to any of the 26 locations and vote. Here is a link to the list of centers!
HENLOPEN ACRES DE
One of the smallest towns in Delaware at 123 acres, or .27 square miles and the only actual election being held on the 27th in the US. They are filling at least two council seats.
Polls are open from 9am to noon. Yep, you heard me right. til noon.
Due to the state evacuating because of Hurricane Irene Henlopen Acres will reschedule the elections.
The notice below is from their website,
Delaware Governor Markell has issued a mandatory evacuation of Henlopen Acres effective 12 noon Friday. All residents should leave by 9 am Saturday. Please exit by way of Dodds Lane. Other exits have been closed for security purposes.
If you choose to stay, you do so at your own risk. No one will be available to respond should you have an emergency. It is very likely that there will not be ambulance or fire service. It is likely you will lose all utilities for a minimum of three days.
The Red Cross has set up shelters at Beacon Middle School, Indian River High School and Milford High School.
