The race for mayor of Denver is entering the home stretch and recent polling shows a clear lead for Michael Hancock over his rival Chris Romer.

In a poll commissioned by the Denver Post and 9News, Hancock has 49% of support followed by 39% for Romer with 11% undecided. This lead extends to all demographic groups except for senior citizens with whom Romer has found a bedrock of support.

The Denver Post has also been covering the municipal elections closely – search for news on this race and the Denver City Council runoffs here.

The Denver Daily News has profiles of the two candidates here.

Blog of the race – I recommend Enik Rising, written by Seth Masket, a political scientist in Denver who has been covering the race, as well as other political news, closely.
