Results for the New York State Senate Seat

Results for New York State Senate District 13

Tonight, one saga in New York politics has ended. Disgraced State Senator Hiram Monserrate, who was removed from office after being convicted of a misdemeanor assault in the slashing of his girlfriend, lost in a special election to Jose Peralta. Peralta, an Assemblyman will be sworn in to the Senate seat in the coming week as the vote is certified. Republican Robert Beltrani came in a distant third in this heavily Democratic district in Queens.
