Republicans celebrated when Ted Gatsas was elected Mayor of Manchester, an important city both in the state and in the presidential primaries every four years. Now the party has to defend his State Senate seat. The district includes Bow, Candia, Dunbarton, Hooksett and three wards in Manchester.

Unlike the State House which has many members, the State Senate is relatively tiny with only 24 members. This means that this is a powerful seat. Right now, Democrats hold a 14-9 lead with this one vacancy outstanding.

Representing the Republicans is David Boutin, a State Representative and a town councilor in Hooksett. To learn more about his campaign, click here.

The Democratic candidate is also a State Representative from the area. Jeff Goley has been a Manchester firefighter since 1988 and has been in his current seat since 2004.  To learn more about his campaign, click here.
