Feb. 2 – Minnesota Caucuses for the 2010 elections
In a system unlike any other in the US, Minnesotans will gather on Tuesday to work on party platforms and endorse candidates for election in 2010. While there are still primaries that will be held later in the year, traditionally candidates who are not chosen in the caucus process drop out in deference to the party’s preferred candidate. However, especially with the massive field for governor in the state, it appears that at least for that race, most candidates will continue onto the primary regardless of the outcome of Tuesday’s caucuses.
So if you are a Minnesota resident, get a babysitter for the kids and go and make your voice heard on Tuesday. This is local politics at its most powerful.
The Libertarians and Constitution parties are not having caucuses this year
