Feb. 2 – Runoff in Georgia’s 22nd State Senate District
He came very close, but Hardie Davis will face fellow Democrat Harold Jones in a runoff for a vacancy in the Georgia State Senate. The district is centered on Augusta, Georgia, famous home of the Masters golf tournament. Hardie Davis originally received 48.4% of the vote while Harold Jones took 40.0%. Two other candidates won the rest of the votes, preventing an outright winner.

Fellow Democrat and Richmond County Solicitor Harold Jones is also looking to fill this vacant seat. As Solicitor, he is responsible for prosecuting all misdemeanor offenses in the city. He was the first African-American elected to this position in Richmond County.
The Libertarian candidate, Taylor Bryant, who took 9.4% in the original election, endorsed Hardie Davis in the runoff.
