Election Day in the 72nd District of California

Nov. 17 – 72nd District Special Election in Orange County, California

It’s primary election day in the Fullerton-area assembly district. Click here to read the original post about the race. Three Republicans are fighting it out  and are hoping to move on to the general election where a Democratic candidate awaits. This was originally a Republican-held seat.

Right now, with the vacancy in the 72nd district, the California assembly stands at 50 Democrats, 28 Republicans and 1 Independent. This district is traditionally Republican, but Democrats hope to make inroads into Orange County.
